Click-to-WhatsApp ads for cars: your first campaign

How to run a Facebook and Instagram ad that opens a WhatsApp chat about one car.

By Anas Mebarki, founder of Repluno

What a click-to-WhatsApp ad is

It is a normal Facebook or Instagram ad, but the button opens a WhatsApp chat with you instead of a website. The buyer writes to you directly about the car he saw.

For dealers this works well: the buyer arrives in the place where you already sell, with a car in mind.

Before you start

You need a Facebook Page, a Meta ad account with a payment method, and your WhatsApp Business number connected to the Page.

Keep the ad account and the card in your own company's name. If an agency runs your ads, give it partner access instead of using its account.

1. One car per ad

Ads for one specific car work better than ads for "our stock". Use your best real photos or a short walk-around video, and put the price in the text.

Start with the cars people already ask about most.

2. Create the campaign

In Ads Manager, create a campaign and choose a messaging destination for the ad set: Messaging apps, then WhatsApp. Pick your area and a daily budget you can keep for at least a week.

In the ad, write the first message the buyer will send, for example "Is this car still available?". It makes writing to you one tap.

3. Answer fast, then measure

An ad that brings messages nobody answers is money lost. Plan who answers before the ad goes live.

After a week, look at which ads brought chats and which brought nothing. Stop the weak ones and move the budget to the cars that bring buyers.

How Repluno helps

When a buyer writes to you from a click-to-WhatsApp ad, Repluno saves the ad on his lead. You see which ad each buyer came from, how many times he clicked, and which ads bring people in.

See your own cars on your own site.
